August, 10-12, 2018, the IEEE/CSAA GNCC2018 was held successfully in Xiamen, China. Over 680 academic representatives attended the conference.

IEEE/CSAA GNCC 2018 is sponsored by Technical Committee on Guidance, Navigation and Control (TCGNC) of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), Science and Technology on Aircraft Control Laboratory and IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) Chapter, Nanjing, China. It is technically co-sponsored by Technical Committee on Control Theory (TCCT) of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA). IEEE/CSAA GNCC2018 is organized by Xiamen University.

Professor Zhang Rong, president of Xiamen University, held a meeting with participants and representatives in his busy schedule.The opening ceremony of conference was hosted by Prof. Yancheng You, executive vice dean of school of aerospace engineering, XMU. Secretary general of CSAA, research professor Junchen Yao, Co-chair of the conference, Prof. Wang Yingxun and deputy party secretary of XMU, Prof. Hongkai Lai made opening addresses respectively.

The conference invited four international famous scholars of GNC to make wonderful invited speeches, they are Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Major General Bangkui Fan; IEEE Fellow, Professor of National University of Singapore, Prof. Ben M. Chen; IEEE Fellow, Professor of Chalmers University of Technology, Prof. Bengt Lennartson; Professor of University of California, Prof. YangQuan Chen. Besides, the conference established the “Chief Designers’ Forum” of Guidance, Navigation and Control firstly. They are Deputy Chief Engineer of CSIC, research professor Yong Chen; Deputy Chief Designer of SADRI, research professor Luhua Jiang; Shenyang Aircraft Design and Research Institute, research professor Zhixiao Sun; Xi'an Flight Automatic Control Research Institute, research professor Xueyao Zhu. These chief designers took part in many national key projects. They proposed series of academic problems about guidance, navigation and control combining the engineering practice. They made wonderful presentations and communications with scholars.

After a rigorous peer-review process, 560 papers have been accepted for either oral or poster presentation at the conference in 44 technical sessions. All Accepted Papers will be published by IEEE, Which will be indexed by EI Compendex.

After several rounds of review, the program committee selects the paper of post-doctor Yuan Yuan from Brunel University as LI Ming Best Paper Award, 3 candidate student papers as FENG Ru Best Paper, and 3 candidate papers as Poster Best Paper. The reward for the first author for students of the authors of the paper. The former rewards the first student authors.

The conference set up "Young Scientists' Forum" for the first time, and Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician You He made wonderful academic report in this forum.

IEEE/CSAA GNCC2020 will be held in Tianjin on August 7th, 2018 to August 9th, 2020.
